Turning Nature Into Art

Turning nature into art is exactly what Mrs. Hutchesons classes did on Tuesday.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and inspired them to take a glance at the surroundings and create a one of a kind drawing of what inspired them.

New Madrid Elementary 4th and 5th graders, as well as NMCC students in Advanced Art, Art 2, Drawing, and members of the National Art Honor Society, have been busy creating fall artist trading cards.  Wednesday was the big day; all the student artists got together at New Madrid Elementary to trade cards with artists from the other school.

Advanced art students are often working on unique projects, and to start off this school year, each student was given a styrofoam head to decorate or design any way they chose.  Each student took a different approach and personalized the project to make it reflect their individual styles and skills.

Eclipse Art

NMCC art students spent the day studying the eclipse in true artist fashion by creating art.  The students used oil pastels on black construction paper to create their eclipse drawing.  While they were creating, they also discussed the phases of the eclipse and watched a video explaining an eclipse.  Pictured are students in the Drawing Class.
