The high school has been showing it's school spirit all week with spirit week activities.  Each day students dressed up in a friendly class competition that supported the overall homecoming theme.  These daily dress themes were exotic animals, dress like a tourist, whatever Wednesday, Athletes vs. Mathletes, and Straight Outta NMCC.  The high school ended spirit week with a pep rally Friday afternoon.  Tailgating starts at 5:00, coronation at 6:30, and the game at 7:00.

Officer Baehr educated the students in 3rd – 5th grade on handwriting analysis during the after school program this week. The Forensic Science class is part of the Science/Math program during Learning Labs at New Madrid Elementary. The students learned the differences in handwriting to determine who wrote the letters during class. Officer Baehr and the students enjoyed the lesson and look forward to more Forensic Science throughout the school year.

In her spare time, Mrs. Coppage loves to read and tend to her many animals (6 dogs, 1 cat, and 2 horses) while spending as many hours as possible at home or the lake. Mrs. Coppage has been active in the local CTA serving as building representative, vice president, reporter, and membership chairman throughout her tenure. She also served on the MSTA Southeast District Board for four years as the president, vice president, president elect, and past president.
