New Madrid County Central Middle School offers tutoring services in the areas of Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. Our after-school tutoring program is designed to assist students with missing work, better understanding a standard, and intervention in their core classes. We are excited to provide targeted assistance to help students excel in their studies.
Tutoring Details

- Parent pickup available between 4:00-5:30 PM

8th and 12th graders need required shots before school begins

Please remember CMS open house will be Tuesday the 12th from 3-6. There will be all kinds of information that will be beneficial to the upcoming school year. There will be a Title 1 information/meeting in the commons. We look forward to seeing everyone!

CMS baseball game has been moved to the Cape HS turf field. Start time is 4:30. NO METAL CLEATS! Molded cleats, turf shoes or tennis shoes only. NO GUM OR SEEDS!

🦅 Track and Field practice will begin Monday, March 3. Students must bring clothes/tennis shoes and have a current physical to participate. Contact Coach Allen (jallen@nmcr1.org) with any questions.

🦅⚾️ Baseball Tryout Update- Baseball tryouts have been moved to Monday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 4. You must attend both days. Players must bring a glove have a current physical. Contact Coach Schoemehl (tschoemehl@nmcr1.org) with any questions you may have.

⚾️CMS baseball tryouts will be February 27-28. Students must have a current physical to try out and must bring a glove.⚾️

Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on Thursday, February 13, from 3-6 pm. Parents may contact or visit teachers during that time to discuss their student's progress.

Due to a rise in illness among students and staff, all schools in the New Madrid County R-1 School District will be closed on Friday, January 24, 2025. During this time, our custodial and maintenance teams will deep clean and sanitize all school buildings to help reduce the spread of illness and ensure a safe return for everyone. Additionally, all homecoming activities will be postponed, and a new schedule will be announced soon. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these adjustments. At this time, we plan to reopen schools on Monday, January 27, 2025. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if anything changes. Thank you for your support as we work to keep our students, staff, and families healthy. We appreciate your understanding during this time.

Central Middle School is on the nice list! We are proud to announce our 2024 Annual Performance Report increased by 26.8% from 2023!!! Missouri DESE measures the progress of our school using MAP test scores along with other data. This growth is a result of hard work from our students, teachers, and staff, and we couldn't be more proud!

Thursday's (12/12) game against Cairo has been cancelled.
